Louis C. Sanfilippo, M.D.,
is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department
of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine
and is in private practice in New Haven, Connecticut.
He completed his psychiatric training at Yale’s
Psychiatry Residency Training Program, his medical
degree at New York University School of Medicine,
and his undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary
Studies at the University of Virginia.
Dr. Sanfilippo supervises Yale
Psychiatry residents and co-lectures a course on
Psychopharmacology. His primary clinical
interest is in the treatment of anxiety, depression,
ADHD, and bipolar disorder in adults, college students,
and athletes. Dr. Sanfilippo has published
on a range of topics, including principles of psychopharmacology
in young adults, mood disorders and suicide, forensic
and ethical issues in psychiatry, and the philosophy
of mind. He has also published review books
for medical school students.
Dr. Sanfilippo also has presented
on sports psychiatric issues and consulted to Yale
University’s Department of Athletics. For
Cenestra Health, Dr. Sanfilippo serves in management
and scientific advisory roles.
As
a healthcare consultant, Dr. Sanfilippo has worked
with various financial organizations and pharmaceutical
companies to evaluate drug development platforms
for a range of psychiatric disorders. Dr.
Sanfilippo is a member of the Gerson Lehrman Group’s
Healthcare Council and routinely writes for their
NewsAnalysis program.
